ONI conducted a technical analysis of the Internet's uptime, documenting a complete shutdown in Burma, followed by intermittent periods of up-time throughout early October, with an apparent return to full connection on October 13 for one of the two ISPs and on October 16 for the other. This bulletin presents these results and investigates the impact that the use of communication technologies had on shaping these key events.

One thing which hasn't been mentioned anywhere by anyone is WHY during all those days when the internet has been cut down (during both shutdowns) the subversive and anti-government site www.redo8888.com was still accessible from any computer. Isn't that amazing? Nobody has been able to come with an answer...
maybe because these sites are
maybe because these sites are not hosted in Burma or on their backbone, like their anti government radio station which is located in norway, so to prevent government from cutting the site off from the world.
